Amardeep Singh

Director, Producer

Amardeep Singh, a resident of Singapore, was educated at The Doon School (Dehradun, India) and Manipal Institute of Technology (India), and pursued a Master of Business Administration at the University of Chicago (USA). Before becoming an Independent Visual Ethnographic Researcher, Amardeep worked in the Financial Services sector for 25 years and served as Head of Revenue Management for the Asia Pacific Region at American Express. He is the Producer & Director of the award-winning 24-episode documentary series on Guru Nanak, titled ‘ALLEGORY, A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels’ and has authored two books, ‘Lost Heritage, The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan’ and ‘The Quest Continues: Lost Heritage, The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan’. He is currently leading the ‘Oneness in Diversity’ project, entailing the creation of audio-visual educational content based on life and metaphoric messages of Guru Nanak and the 15 Bhagats. He is also leading the development of educational content for the 'Learn With Nanak' project.

Vininder Kaur

Director, Script Writer, Music Coordinator

Vininder Kaur, a resident of Singapore, was educated at the Convent of Jesus and Mary (Dehradun, India). She pursued a degree in fashion design and taught at ONGC College of Vocational Studies. She also worked as a fashion designer in an international buying house in India. She is the Director, Script Writer & Music Coordinator of the award-winning 24-episode documentary series on Guru Nanak, titled ‘ALLEGORY, A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels’. She is also the editor of two books, ‘Lost Heritage, The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan’ and ‘The Quest Continues: Lost Heritage, The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan’. Satninder Singh Bodal

Vocalist

Satninder Singh Bodal lives in Bodal, Punjab, India. He attained classical musical training under (Late) Ustad B.S. Narang of the Shamchurasi Gharana. He is a leading exponent of Hindustani Classical Vocalist and all the Raags of the Guru Granth Sahib. He is an A Grade Artist of All India Radio in Indian Classical Vocal. He is a recipient of many prestigious awards like, Ustad Shouqat Ali Award 2023 by PGCM Trust, Yuva Sangeet Rattan 2014 in Kurukshetra, 2014 CMSB National Award, Sangeet Ratan Samman 2016 by Akhil Bharatiya Sangeet Sammelan Delhi. Satninder has performed worldwide music orums.

Apinder Singh

Chief Coordinator - Gurbani Projects

Apinder Singh holds an M.Phil. in Comparative Religions from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He is an educator & researcher, with deep experience in Gurbani & Sikh history. He has served as a Research Scholar at the Sikh Reference Library, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee, Amritsar and as a Sikhi Lecturer and Researcher with the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board, Singapore and the Sikh Missionary Society, Singapore. He has contributed inputs as a researcher for the films; Chaar Sahibzaade, The Saint Soldier: Bhai Maharaj Singh, AAGAAZ: Baba Garja Singh & Baba Bota Singh, and Allegory – A Tapestry of Guru Nanak’s Travels. He is also the author of books on Sikh history, values, and poetry.

Datti Kaur

Visual Artist

Datti Kaur, a resident of Singapore, was educated at the United World College of South East Asia. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a B.Ed teacher’s degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and a Master's Degree from The Prince's Foundation, School of Traditional Arts, London. Datti's artworks are inspired by the Indic philosophies and imagery, re-contextualizing events from the past through a contemporary perspective. Her works have been showcased in several exhibitions across Canada, the USA, and India.

Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan

Sarangi

Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan, son of celebrated musician Ustad Tajuddin Khan Saheb (Delhi Gharana), is a distinguished Sarangi and Saranda Maestro who was trained under Ustad Wazir Hussain Khan Saheb (Sonipat-Panipat Sarangi Gharana) and is also rooted in the gayeki tradition of the Agra Gharana. A professional musician, vocalist and All India Radio-graded artist, he has performed solo Sarangi concerts, accompanied leading Classical, Ghazal, Sufi, Gurbani and Bollywood artists, and appeared at major festivals and platforms across India and abroad. His work spans live concerts, recordings, television shows (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Rising Star, Voice of India, Indian Idol), Bollywood films, world tours, and the promotion of traditional instruments such as Sarangi, Saranda, Dilruba, Israj, Tar-Shehnai and vocals through his Sur Saaz Darbar Sangeet Academy.

Vignesh Jayaraman

Mridangam

Vignesh Jayaraman, hailing from a traditional music family, was introduced to the art form of Mridangam at age 5. He is a disciple of Mridangam Selvam, Kumbakonam, Dr N Padmanaban, and, for further proficiency, he has started learning from Sangeeta Kalanithi, Mridangam Maestro Thiruvarur M Bakthavatsalam. He is a graded artist of "All India Radio". He is the finest Mridangam Artist of the current generation. He has won a National award from the Government of India titled "Kala Bhushan" and holds a "Limca Book of Records for participating in an 108 Mridangam ensemble conducted by his guru.

Radhika Ramakrishnan

Saraswati Veena

Radhika Ramakrishnan started learning Carnatic vocal music at the age of seven. In addition to her vocal training, she also started learning Veena from the renowned Vainika, Late Smt. Prema Mallikarjunan. At present, Radhika is learning under the tutelage of renowned Vainika Kalaimamani Vidushi R. Ramani. Radhika has completed her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Carnatic music from the University of Delhi and holds a Diploma in Music Therapy from Chennai School of Music Therapy. She is also a recipient of senior scholarship by ministry of culture. She has given performances in SNA IGNCA and IIC to name a few and has been performing in and around Delhi.

Adnan Khan

Sitar

Born into a family of illustrious musicians, he is the son of renowned Sitar maestro Ustad Saeed Khan of Dilli Gharana. Adnan started his initial sitar education under his maternal grandfather, Late Ustad Zafar Ahmed Khan. He has been learning the intricacies of the instrument from his father. Adnan Khan belongs to the Dilli gharana from the maternal side and the Kirana gharana from the paternal side. Adnan was a senior A-grade Scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy under Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan from 2009 to 2013. Adnan has performed in various prestigious music festivals – Baba Harballa Sangeet Sammelan, ITC Sangeet Sammelan, MTV India Music Summit, World Music Festival (Turkmenistan), Bangal Foundation in Bangladesh, Indian & Bahrain Festival in Bahrain, International Festival In Maldives, Salt Lake Music Conference, Arohi Music Festival, Sangeet Academy, and Ustad Vilayat Khan Foundation.

Bhagta Singh

Esraj, Taar Shehnai

Bhagta Singh started learning vocal & instrument at the age of 13 from Ustad Gurpreet Singh. Since 2018, he is a student of Ustad Gurmeet Singh (Delhi). He has participated in many music competitions and won awards - Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan (Jalandhar 2018), Bawra Sangeet Sammelan (Jalandhar (2019), Gurnaad Music Competition (Delhi 2018-19), Sarabh Bharti Sangeet Sammelan (Chandigarh 2019-20), International KIM competition 2021, Gavoh Sachi Bani Season -3 (2019).

Smit Tiwari

Sarod

Smit Tiwari learnt Dhrupad and Tabla from his mother, Smt. Chhaya Tiwari, and began his Sarod training under his father, Shri Chandra Shekhar Tiwari. He is a disciple of Prof. Suprahat Pal of the Maihar Gharana. He completed his M.Phil. from the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi. Smit has received several awards and has performed at prestigious forums, including the Pradeshik Sangeet Pratiyogita organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow; Sangeet Pratiyogita Shardotsav, Nainital; Sangeet Sammelan by Gandhi Sahitya Academy, Delhi; and the Baba Harivallabh Music Competition, Jalandhar. He was awarded the National Scholarship for Young Artists by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in 2010, the Allauddin Khan Memorial Award by I.T.C., Mumbai, and the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar by Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2015.

Vikas Babu Dayal

Shehnai

Vikas started learning Shehnai from his father, Pandit Shambhu Dayal. Later he came under the tutelage of Pandit Vishnu Prasanna of the Banaras Gharana. He was also associated with Pandit Ashok Kumar Chaurasia. Presently, he is receiving advanced training from Pandit Rajendra Prasanna of Banaras Gharana. Vikas has been bestowed numerous awards like, Surman Awar from Sur Singar Samsad (Mumbai 1993), Sahitya Kala Parishad Youth Festival Award (New Delhi 1995), The Habital Centre Trio Award (New Delhi 2002). Vikas has performed in International musical concerts in Europe, Egypt and Sout Africa.

Mohandeep Bawra

Mohandeep Bawra was born into a family of musicians. He began his initial training in music at the tender age of four under the able guidance of his grandfather, the great musician Dr. Joginder Singh Bawra. He is currently learning music from his father, Shri Jagdeep Kiran Bawra. He holds an M.A. and M.Phil. in Music from the University of Delhi. He has given many performances at various music concerts and festivals, such as the Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, Jalandhar; Bawra Sangeet Sammelan, Jalandhar; Echoes of Earth, Bangalore; Regalia Music Concert, Kolkata; and Antaragni Music Festival, IIT Kanpur, among others. Mohandeep is the fourth generation continuing the musical legacy of the Bawra family.

Rajesh Prasana

Bansuri

Rajesh Prasanna is the son and disciple of Pandit Rajendra Prasanna. He was also trained under the tutelage of his grandfather Pt. Raghunath Prasanna, and his uncles Pt. Ravi Shankar Prasanna and Pt. Rakesh Prasanna. Rajesh has been awarded with Surmani Award in Mumbai 2001. He has also been honoured with ‘Sangeet Sadhak Samman’ (Delhi) and is the recipient of “Sangeet Shiromani” Award (Delhi, 2004). He has performed prestigious festivals like the Dover Lane Festival in Kolkata, Saptak Festival in Ahmedabad, Tansen festival in Gwalior to Sawai Gandharva in Pune, and WOMAD in UK and New Zealand.

Divyansh Srivastava

Santoor

Divyansh Harshit Srivastava was born into a musical family in Banaras, where he received his initial music lessons from his father, Shri Govind Kumar Verma. He later began his journey in santoor and became a disciple of Santoor Maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopori of the Sufiyana Gharana of Kashmir. He also received guidance from the “Prince of Strings,” Abhay Rustum Sopori. Divyansh plays the santoor in the Sopori Baaj style, which was recreated by Pandit Bhajan Sopori. He graduated in Commerce and completed his Master’s in Music from the University of Delhi. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. on the santoor at the University of Delhi. Divyansh has performed at many prestigious stages, including the SaMaPa Sangeet Sammelan, Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, Mahindra Kabira Festival, Ganga Mahotsav, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, G20, and the Tanssia Soi Festival in Kuopio, Finland.

Dr. Uzma Azhar holds a Ph.D. in Sociology. She has teaching and research experience in institutes such as Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University, South Asian University, and Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has published several academic textbooks and is a writer for journals and news media. She has curated “Exploring Shahjahanabad in Old Delhi” an audio-visual module for Sahapedia (2018). She has conducted an original study on the Art Market and the Growth of Private Galleries in Delhi for IFA. Presently, she is teaching as a visiting faculty at the School of Planning and Architecture-Delhi. She is also working as an editor with Routledge on an Anthology on ''Students Movements in India''. Simultaneously, she leads the project “Archiving Living Residue of a Lost World: Medieval City’s Pre-Modern Occupations in Post-Modern Time’’.

Daljit Ami from Chandigarh, India, is a Journalist, Researcher, Translator, and Documentary Filmmaker. He writes and makes films in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
