LIFE AND METAPHORIC MESSAGES OF BHAGAT PARMANAND

Some believe Bhagat Parmanand was a resident of Barshi in Maharashtra, and others identify him as Brahmin Parmanand Das from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh. He was probably born in 1483 AD. According to oral tradition, it is said that Bhagat Parmanand addressed himself as Sarang, an ever-thirsty bird longing for a drop of rainwater. Symbolically, he too was forever thirsty for wisdom, longing to quench his thirst for divinity.

Bhagat Parmanand’s spiritual message is inscribed in his 1 sabad (verse) in Guru Granth
Sahib.
